HOW TO USE
HOW TO USE
Thermal Protection Before your first use, add the provided sand to the base of the censer. This creates a necessary thermal barrier, isolating the heat from the incense cone to protect the fired clay.
Oxygen & Aroma Control The airflow determines the intensity of the experience. Use the lid to filter the smoke through the small holes for a subtle, steady aroma. Leave the lid off to increase oxygen flow for a stronger combustion and a more robust scent.
Safe Handling Terracotta is a natural insulator and retains heat for a significant time. Always allow the censer and its contents to cool completely before handling or cleaning.
Maintenance As a suspended, handcrafted object, the security of the piece relies on its tension. Periodically inspect and tighten the rope knots to ensure a secure, balanced hold over time.
CARE & CLEANING
Surface Care
To maintain the raw, matte finish of the terracotta, simply wipe the exterior with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust or ash.
Residue Management
Over time, the interior will develop a naturally darkened patina from the oils, resins and smoke of your incense. This is a characteristic of the material and does not require removal. If necessary, use a small brush to gently clear away loose ash once the censer has fully cooled.
Maintenance to Avoid
Do not use water, detergents, or abrasive cleaners. Because the clay is porous, it will absorb these substances, which can affect the scent and integrity of future burns.
